Re-threading Madness with Bernadine Fox
Bernadine Fox, a trauma survivor, is an artist, author, and intersectional feminist who has some 30 years of experience advocating around mental health issues. She ran the Expressive Arts Group for the West Coast Mental Health Network in conjunction with both the Richmond Mental Health Dept and Gallery Gachet.
In this episode, Bernadine and Jason engage in an intimate discussion about where he came from, his decades of descent into addiction, and to where he is now.
Jason shares his journey from addiction to recovery, with host, Garry Kelly. He discusses his unstable childhood and his involvement in the drug trade. His situation took a turn for the worse when he moved to Las Vegas to escape his troubles.
Jason also discusses his discovery of a sister through a DNA test, his experiences in the drug trade, and his turning point when he learned he was going to be a father.
Despite past struggles, Jason is now 17 years drug-free and two years sober, using his experiences to help others.
About Jason
Jason Fareas is a former drug addict turned dealer, turned successful logistics executive. After 17 years of sobriety, he is looking to share the story of his dark past with others in hopes they can achieve the same success he has through sheer focus and determination.
Aside from leading others on their path to recovery, Jason also conducts numerous workshops on leadership, successful management strategies, and more.
